Accreditation
Welcome to the North Central University Accreditation webpage.
Thanks for visiting!
Before you get started in the e-resource room, we are pleased to provide a brief introduction to our process of Accreditation and Assessment.
Accreditation
NCU is accredited regionally with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. This accrediting association covers a twenty-state region in the midwest and accredits hundreds of public, private, community, and technical schools. Law requires that each institution be visited by a team of peer reviewers at least once every ten years. The 2007-2008 school year is the tenth years since our last review and therefore, NCU will be visited by five people on Nov. 12-14, 2007. In preparation for this event, the institution has worked for more than two years to provide evidence that it has met the five criteria established by HLC. The self-study and other resources will be made available to the team and is also available to you here at the NCU E-Resource Room.
Assessment
The chief purpose of NCU is to provide strong academic and other programming which will develop holistic students as they move through their bachelor's degrees. The assessment of student learning is critical to us as we seek to prove that we have accomplished the student outcomes that are outlined in our university catalog. Additionally, NCU does a great deal in relation to program and institutional evaluation. The wide variety of valuable information from both assessment and evaluation measures provide us with opprtunities to make changes in our curriculum and programs that will better meet the needs of our students. The assessment website summarizes many of the measures that are utilized in these endeavors and indicates that NCU students do well in general in relation to other college students across the United States.
