North Central University’s Applied Studies: HVAC Diploma program will train you to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct maintenance on residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Offered in partnership with Minneapolis Community & Technical College (MCTC), you’ll earn a bachelor’s degree from North Central and an associate’s degree from MCTC while pursuing a fulfilling career in an in-demand field

When you graduate from the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration program, you’ll be prepared with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience to:
- Diagnose problems, perform repairs, and conduct maintenance on residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems
- Understand Minnesota Energy Code requirements and diagnostic procedures
- Fabricate sheet metal and copper, as well as plastic and steel piping
- Work with advanced electrical controls, heat recovery ventilators, air-cleaning devices, sophisticated air-measurement equipment, and carbon-monoxide-testing instruments
- Operate advanced indoor-air-quality technologies and commercial and residential heat pumps

Requirements
All students must complete the General Education Core and Christian Studies Core. General electives may be added or an optional minor may be selected. You need 124 total credit hours to complete an Applied Studies: HVAC Diploma degree.
