With North Central Rams Varsity Esports team, students are given the opportunity to play video games competitively with teams across the country.
NCU’s varsity esports team is the first and only team of its kind in the Twin Cities, offering student athletes the chance to game while also earning a degree. Student athletes will be coached, and many are offered scholarships
What are Esports?
- Esports are organized video game competitions. Gamers may compete as teams or individually in competitive video games tournaments.
Esport Arena
The arena features 25 gaming desktops with Ryzen R9 5900x processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards, and 32GB of RAM. Plus, synchronous 10 GigE wired internet.
Esports Teams
The arena will be home to the University’s five esports teams:
- Rocket League
- League of Legends
- Fortnite
- Valorant
- Super Smash Bros

Scholarships are available, and 100% of NCU students receive financial aid.

The term “gaming,” as referenced in conjunction with North Central’s eSports program, refers to video games that are played in a highly organized competitive environment* and does not involve gambling of any kind.
