Minneapolis, MN – The North Central University College of Fine Arts is pleased to present the Eighth Annual Pure Worship Institute, June 15-19, 2015.
The Pure Worship Institute is a weeklong intensive music conference featuring seminars, workshops, jam sessions, listening panels, and worship encounters. This revolutionary “school” for bands, singers, musicians, and worshipers integrates a healthy balance of spiritual and practical teaching to train up creative types to love Jesus with their skills and their lives.
PWI was founded by Jeff Deyo, nationally recognized worship leader, recording artist, original member of Sonicflood, and worship arts specialist at NCU. His vision is to see every musician, singer, worship leader, and band member understand and willingly embrace God’s higher purpose for them as influencers in His Kingdom by living, playing, and singing as skilled, passionate, humble, Spirit-led arrows in His hand.
The institute works to equip professional musicians and singers through teaching, modeling, mentoring, and building. It seeks to cultivate in its participants’ hearts an understanding of the enormous responsibility they possess – first as followers of Christ and secondly as those who will influence and shape modern culture through their music and creativity.
PWI students will learn many things, including how to worship with their instruments, what God requires biblically of singers and musicians, and how to war for souls through music. Students will also learn how to use the latest technology, how to write and arrange songs that will stir the heart of a generation, how to improve their technique, and how to plan a worship “set” while still allowing the Holy Spirit to lead.
