Erica Hanson receives 2022 Staff of the Year Award
The North Central University Staff of the Year Award is a peer-nominated
honor presented annually to recognize exemplary service to North Central
University and its constituents. Erica Hanson, Executive Director of Marketing
and Communications, received Staff of the Year honors for 2022 at the Staff
Appreciation celebration in May.
About Erica Hanson
Erica Hanson ’13 returned to work at North Central full time in 2015. She hit
the ground running as she was hired one month before the launch of a new
website and oversaw the staff doing the majority of the implementation.
“Running” continues to be a good descriptor of Erica in her work all across
campus. She and her team create all university marketing materials for
prospective students and work collaboratively across departments to
produce internal and external communication for employees, students,
alumni, donors, university partners.
Hanson’s fingerprints can be seen across the university as she plays a key
role in design and aesthetics for many facilities projects, ensuring that the
collective visual experience at the university aligns with the NCU brand. She
is a brand champion and is called upon frequently to consult and have her
team create collateral that showcases North Central University. During
phases of the COVID-19, Hanson oversaw the creation of all printed materials
and a comprehensive website to communicate important health protocols.
Hanson holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from North
Central University. She worked previously as Director of Marketing for
Augustana Care, and is currently a part-time firefighter for the Eden Prairie,
Minnesota, Fire Department.
