What does social mobility ranking mean?

The social mobility ranking reflects how well a college or university supports economically disadvantaged students. These students often face more significant challenges in completing their higher education journey. The factors that contribute to this ranking include:

  • Enrollment and graduation rates of students awarded Pell Grants, federal aid typically given to students with adjusted gross family incomes under $50,000.
  • Borrower debt.
  • Income outcomes showing that college graduates earn more than high school graduates.

This ranking affirms efforts North Central has been making for the past several years and is especially important because it aligns with NCU’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality education for everyone. The ranking demonstrates that North Central is more than just a place to learn; it’s also a community that fosters growth and creates leaders who make a difference.
