Lots of students feel overwhelmed the day they move to North Central for the first time. Especially during move-in day, there is a lot of stress that students have to deal with when they are moving in. However, there are ways to help you alleviate some of that stress after moving onto campus.
Explore your new campus
One of the most exciting experiences as a college freshman is seeing your campus, the place that you will be living at for the next several years. Not only is it an exciting experience, but it also helps students, especially those who are newcomers to North Central University, ground themselves and get a grasp of the campus amenities and where everything is located. While exploring the campus, students may end up making new acquaintances, which is always helpful when starting a new chapter of life in a different place. Along with exploring North Central, it’s always helpful to explore the city surrounding your campus. Some of the best places to visit around Minneapolis are:
- Minnehaha Falls
- Target Field
- U.S. Bank Stadium
- Minneapolis Institute of Art
- Guthrie Theatre
- Mill Ruins Park
- Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Participate in college activities
There are always many activities for students to participate in, whether they are freshmen newcomers or students who have been attending for years. Especially during the first few days after students have moved onto North Central, there are always so many exciting activities that students can participate in. Students can get to know other students while participating in these activities. North Central offers a wide variety of activities for students when they first move onto campus in the fall. These activities are designed to create a safe community and new relationships for students.
Shop for the necessities
After students have taken the time to settle in and get comfortable with each other and their new dorm, it’s important for students to go shopping for whatever they may need, especially groceries or household cleaning supplies. From the experience of students, they always tend to feel more at home once they have groceries and snacks they may need.
