Welcome Interim Vice President Kate Ketterling! 

We are delighted to share that Kate Ketterling has been appointed as the Interim Vice President of HR & Operations and will be rejoining the North Central team. Kate previously served as the Executive Director of Human Resources at NCU until April 2022. 

In her newly established role, Vice President Ketterling will be responsible for overseeing both the Human Resources and Operations divisions, including the Directors and Executive Directors of Operations, Facilities Management, Campus Safety and Security, Information Technology and Innovation, Media Production, Copy and Mailing Services, and Housekeeping and Events. 

V.P. Ketterling began her professional journey in Human Resources with Stephens Inc., a prominent family-owned financial services firm in the United States. After becoming a mother, she dedicated the majority of her time to raising her four children. During their formative years, she contributed her skills to AG Financial, offering administrative support for church and para-church organization fundraising. In addition, she made contributions to the real estate sector, specializing in staging and marketing strategies. 

Throughout her career, V.P. Ketterling has been actively involved in various part-time and volunteer roles. She has lent her expertise to organizations such as Christian Heritage Academy, Inner City Christian Ministries, and River Valley Church, providing valuable support in administration, event planning, and human resources. 

In 2018, she transitioned to NCU, where she initially served as the Director of Human Resources and later assumed the role of Executive Director of Human Resources. V.P. Ketterling’s core competencies revolve around process creation, creative problem-solving, and promoting workplace health. Her multifaceted career reflects a commitment to excellence in diverse professional domains. 

For those who have had the privilege of working with Vice President Ketterling in the past, you know her to be a person of immense capacity and character—a leader who operates with efficiency and effectiveness. She has successfully navigated challenging situations. She helped lead our covid response, chaired the Title IX committee, and orchestrated a comprehensive overhaul of the Human Resources department.

Since joining NCU in 2018, V.P. Ketterling has consistently impressed colleagues and leadership with her wisdom, insight, and professionalism. As a proud alumna of NCU, her dedication to the school is deeply ingrained, making her return even more special. We are thrilled to welcome her back to campus and see her contribute to the Senior Leadership Team.
