Why You Should Visit NCU

Written by Noah Bennett

College campus visits are one of the most useful tools in helping you decide where your future home will be. They provide insight to your school and program, a feel for campus, as well as the community surrounding your (potential) future home. While your list for campus visits may be growing, there are a few key reasons why you won’t want to leave North Central University off your list.

Chapel

While you may visit North Central for a number of reasons, there are few experiences as special as taking in chapel with the rest of our community. With worship led by NCU Worship Live, and a variety of different speakers throughout the year, chapel is the heartbeat of our campus. Chapel will define and refine your faith and provide you an atmosphere to experience the Holy Spirit in a fresh way. Whether you want to just come and abide, or worship in front with all you have, there is a space for you in chapel with us. Here, you will see a glimpse of what it is like to consistently worship with a spirit-filled community, but more importantly, you will find where you belong.

The City

North Central is located directly in downtown Minneapolis, which is the heart of the Twin Cities area. Here you will find endless opportunities to explore and discover recreational activities, as well as be a part of one of the largest young adult communities in the entire country. Minneapolis itself boasts one of the nation’s top park systems, with fun spots such as the Stone Arch Bridge, as well as the Chain of Lakes in South Minneapolis. If parks aren’t your thing, there’s hundreds of other entertainment options as well. The Twin Cities are home to professional sports teams across all six major Northern American sports leagues (whose stadiums are also used for concerts), as well as the storied Guthrie Theatre that has amazing shows running all year round. Did we mention all the fun coffee shops and restaurants to explore too? In Minneapolis, your opportunities to explore and find your fun are limitless.

Community

North Central may be small in comparison to other major schools in the area, but this allows for an extremely tight knit community on campus. When you visit, instead of just being another face in the crowd, rest assured that from the moment you arrive on campus you are a valued member of the North Central family. Here, you will get a snapshot of what it’s like to have Christian community from the onset of your college career.  With tons of different ways to experience life on campus, it’s easy to get a feel of what it’s like being a part of the community here at NCU. Try out chapel, visit the library, and enjoy a meal with some of your future classmates in our recently renovated dining hall. Whatever experience you choose, we’re excited to welcome you to our family from your first visit.

We are so excited to for you to join our community! While you wait, experience a taste of what chapel is like with NCU Worship Live, and learn a little bit more about our community with these resources. See you soon!
