Position Purpose
Associate Director – Program Manager (AD-PM) – in partnership with the Office of the President, the Communications and Marketing office, the Advancement Task Force, the Alumni Association, Church Relations, and Business and Community Outreach – oversees aspects of securing non-tuition funding for the University. The AD-PM will affirm and demonstrate fidelity to NCUs doctrinal and moral standards for all leadership, including active participation in the local church. The AD-PM will exercise leadership over multiple facets of fundraising and will possess excellent communication skills, emotional and relational intelligence, and administrative acumen.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- In partnership with the Office of the President, Interim VP of Academic Affairs, Interim VP of Human Resources & Operations, and the Board of Regents, the AD-PM will help establish one-, three- and five-year budgets for the University.
- The AD-PM will partner with executive leadership to establish long-term financial stability, including endowments, annual fund, scholarships, grants, and other non-tuition income sources.
- The AD-PM will establish specific annual fundraising goals in light of the budgets and the long-term planning.
- The AD-PM will oversee the diverse categories of advancement, including:
- Major donor cultivation, including businesses, foundations, individual benefactors, and legacy giving.
- Church Relations (local churches and districts/networks).
- Grant development.
- Annual fund (Fall gala and other events).
- Alumni communication and donor cultivation.
- The AD-PM will develop systems of donor communication and cultivation that celebrate every level and type of giving.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree – preferred) in marketing, higher education, or related field preferred.
- Three to Five years of experience in business development, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with sales, marketing, and development preferred.
- Supervisory or team leadership preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Demonstrate Christian character and servant leadership.
- Commitment to University mission and statement of faith.
- Ability to handle issues of a confidential nature.
- Research skills needed for gathering information on issues pertaining to higher education.
- Experience and competence in working with diverse populations.
- Ability to work in a supervisory, collegial, and/or mentoring relationship with others, including staff, faculty, and student leaders.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn marketing database programs; Familiarity with Microsoft products, Salesforce, etc.
- Ability to communicate and follow up verbally and in writing to ensure shared understanding of accurate information.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and conflicting priorities to accomplish tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and independently within a broad strategic framework.
- Self-motivated, creative, organized, decisive, and enthusiastic.
- Ability to attend to detail and maintain accurate records.
Working Conditions and Frequency
Environmental Conditions
- Position is located in an urban, Christ-centered environment.
- 50% travel to the 11 AG networks that are affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
- Flexible hours, given the rhythm of life in the college calendar. Especially during the semesters, working during weekends and evenings are sometimes necessary and expected.
- Exposure to repetitive use of the fingers, hands, and wrists on a daily basis.
Equipment and Tools
- Usage of a computer averages approximately 50% of the workday. Other office machines include a photocopier and telephone.
