Position Purpose

The Enrollment Social Media Coordinator builds upon existing social media activity at North Central University to achieve increased levels of constituent engagement, website traffic, and revenue by strategically creating and curating written and visual content for social media and other digital platforms. In addition, the Enrollment Social Media Coordinator collaborates on and executes digital marketing and paid social media advertising strategies; coordinates with team members in Admissions, Financial Aid, and various other departments on campus; and contributes to content marketing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

(55%) Manage NCU’s social media presence

  • Refine and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking and audience identification, with a focus on Enrollment trends and engagement.
  • Act as a frontline brand ambassador by interacting with and engaging audiences.
  • Optimize institutional pages within each social platform to increase the visibility and brand consistency of North Central University’s social content.
  • Actively research, produce, coordinate, and syndicate written and visual (e.g., photography, video) content across social media channels specifically targeting enrollment goals.
  • Research and recommend emerging social media trends and how they may enhance our brand.
  • Establish engagement goals, track analytics, report on metrics, and compare goals to actuals on a weekly, consistent basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special project support and event planning.
  • Serve as a social media trainer and mentor to institutional social media authors.

(45%) Create integrated digital marketing and advertising campaigns

  • Develop social media advertising strategy.
  • Using Facebook Retargeting tools, create sales funnels to lead prospects through.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing and Content Strategist on digital marketing strategies, including PPC and paid social advertising.
  • Create engaging social content in alignment with overall content marketing strategy.
  • Conduct keyword research to discover terms to use in blogs to grow organic reach, then create a variety of topics and content for blogs on the university website.
  • Monitor and report on success of social advertising campaigns.
  • Support overall inbound marketing strategy.
  • Tracking and submitting invoices/expenses.
  • Provide support for marketing or communications initiatives on an as-needed basis.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and experience

  • Bachelors Degree, in related field.
  • Preferred higher educational experience.
  • Preferred experience with programs analytics systems and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project management skills yet flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong written communication skills, proofreading skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills.

Proficient Knowledge in

Primary roles:

  • Facebook Ads Manager
  • Understanding of inbound marketing
  • Ability to function without direct supervision and maintain high motivation.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok etc.).
  • Knowledge of marketing channel functions, trends, emerging technologies, and appropriate deliverables.

Secondary roles:

  • Commitment to growth and understanding of North Central’s DNA and brand voice.
  • Ability to communicate and follow-up verbally or in writing to ensure shared understanding of information and confirmation of task completion.
  • Ability to interact and communicate proficiently with students, faculty, staff and administration.
  • Knowledge of Christian higher education market.
  • Ability to lead, facilitate or coordinate cross-departmental teams.

Working conditions and frequency

Environmental Conditions

  • Daily exposure to repetitive motions of the fingers, hands and wrists.
  • Willingness to work some nights and weekends for special events

Equipment and Tools

  • Use of a PC and telephone, photocopier and facsimile machine approximately 95% of the workday
