Every other year, Worship Live (WL) North Central University’s student-led worship team records an album to share the love of Christ and some music with those outside of NCU. The 2017 Worship Live album, “Always Remain,” will be released on April 24, available for purchase on iTunes and GooglePlay.
A song that reached thousands
The title track was released last month as a single (available for free with an album pre-order through April 23), and has also reached thousands of people through social media. Representing an unprecedented reach for WL, the “Always Remain” video, recorded live in chapel by alumni-owned Narrate Studios, has been viewed more than 67,000 times on Facebook, and is the most-shared music video in NCU history.
The music from this recording is already touching hearts and lives. WL team member Mallory Pfenning Lendl shared that a co-worker sought her out on the job to learn more about what Lendl was involved with. Her colleague said, “I found something online and was completely blown away…” recounting how the song, lyrics, singing, and music brought her to tears, and also that her husband was at a loss for words for the peace it gave him, since she had shared it with him. This opened the door for a 20-minute conversation about the album, church, and the Lord.
The 2017 Worship Live album is made up of all original songs written and composed by NCU students and faculty. According to Jeff Deyo, worship arts specialist, the title track began in the heart of an NCU freshman Taylor Marshall, who brought it to one of the weekly writing sessions, where other students and Deyo come alongside him to finish it. “It’s such a collaborative effort,” Deyo said.

North Central students, faculty, staff, alumni, and interested guests will gather for NCUnited, an event to celebrate the full album release, pray, worship, and look at the year ahead for the university, on April 24 at 7 p.m. in the Trask Word and Worship Center.
