November 2024

The Presidential Search Committee has been tasked by the Board of Regents to recommend one or more Presidential candidates for the Board to consider for the position of President of NCU. Since the Opportunity Profile and steps for applying for the position of President at NCU was made available in early August, the Presidential Search Committee has been actively receiving and reviewing applications, reaching out to individuals who were recommended as potential candidates, and interviewing candidates. Prior to the Opportunity Profile being made available, the Committee had spent time listening to constituency groups and experts in the field of Higher Education who provided us with insights that were used to develop a profile of skills and qualities that we believe are necessary for the next President at NCU. We have used this profile to evaluate the candidates who have applied for the position. With the application period recently coming to a close, the Committee continues to review applications and interview candidates.

We covet your prayers during this very crucial season at NCU. We are asking God for the wisdom that only He can provide and to make it abundantly clear to every person on the Committee who should be recommended to the full Board of Regents. We are also praying for unity in this decision. Please join with us in prayer during this next phase of the search process. This is God’s school and we rest in His wisdom and guidance as we work towards identifying the individual He has called to lead NCU into a strong future.

August 2024

The PSC announces the NCU Presidential Profile with a call for applications, inquiries and nominations. Please visit here.

Information is available at this site for nominating candidates, for information on what NCU is seeking in a leader, and what applicants are required to provide for potential advancement in the process. Please be in prayer for God’s guiding wisdom for the search committee, the Board of Trustees and the candidates themselves. We are seeking a candidate to fill a role that is complex and carries a great deal of responsibility. Leading a university, no matter it’s size, scope or mission, requires a commitment to excellence and is a serious endeavor. Pray for our candidates and their families as they navigate this process. Pray for our search committee as they process this information and seek God’s will, and pray for NCU as a whole!

April and May 2024

The PSC conducted several listening sessions with various constituencies of the NCU community. Students were consulted through voluntary available in-person feedback listening sessions as well as an online survey. Faculty and staff were engaged through various ‘listening tours’ attended by the PSC representatives, Andy Schuttinga, Rachelle Waldon, Darnell Williams and Chris Woelfle. Staff were offered two times and faculty were offered two times as well. Additionally, the faculty and staff and students were all asked to add further information through an online survey crafted for each group. Profiles were created from this information by Prof. Keph Rakhu for use by the PSC.
